The global earphones and headphones market is expected to cross $20 billion in revenue by 2023*. And while there are more than 3,000 companies engaged in manufacturing of earphones and headphones, the top five manufacturers — Beats, Bose, Sennheiser, Sony, and Skullcandy — have two-thirds of the global market share in terms of value and 50% of the market share in terms of volume.

Given this, what will be the future of the in-ear monitoring sector?

How will that compare with overall growth trends?

How many more local manufacturers will be in each country?

Will prices continue to trend up or will we see industry consolidation and price erosion?

These questions and factors have led to the formation of the In-Ear Monitor International Trade Organization. By having clarity and focus on the opportunity at large, the collective can ensure global best practices offering value to end users.
